The exhibition will feature Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s first works, including Surface d’Empaquetage (Surface of a Package) from the new collection, Wrapped Cans and Bottles, Wrapped Telephones, and Packages, from the Christo and Jeanne-Claude collection at the Miyanomori International Museum of Art, Sapporo. Christo’s drawings, collages, and photographs taken by Wolfgang Volz are used to introduce the more than 20 outdoor projects that Christo and Jeanne-Claude have realized over the years. Also on October 3, 25 years after The Umbrella, Japan-USA, 1984 -1991, which was set in Ibaraki Prefecture and California, Christo will visit Japan for the documentation exhibition of the project at Art Tower Mito (organized by the Mito Arts Foundation, and the Yomiuri Shimbun).
