In commemoration of the grand re-opening, we are planning to open a portion of the museum to hold the J Art Foundation Opening Commemorative Exhibition “Japanese Contemporary Art Today” in the New Wing.

This exhibition is an attempt to redefine and reconsider the contemporary art scene, a complex intersection of diverse perspectives, through the museum’s collection. The two exhibition rooms of the new building will be filled with a wide variety of paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, and videos created by a total of 55 artists currently active in the field, each of which speaks out and appeals to our hearts. These voices will sometimes resonate with one another and sometimes clash, revealing one aspect of contemporary art.

We hope that patrons that come to the exhibition fully appreciate the power of art of the time and it’s diverse forms.
